MULBAGAL BRIEFS

Illicit liquor seized
Excise police seized 250 litres of illicit liquor and arrested one Muniyappa on Monday after a raid on illicit liquor shop in Basavarajapur village, Mulbagal taluk.

The police also seized 1800 litres of jaggery froth,  which is normally used to prepare liquor.

Woman killed
A woman who was returning from temple was run over by a tempo and she died on the spot.

Mamatha(25), who hailed  from Patrahalli village,  was returning to her house after visiting a temple at Nangali. As she was crossing the N Vaddahalli cross, a tempo hit her. The force of the impact was so  great that she died on the spot and the there was no chance to save her.

A case has been registered by Nangali police and further investigations are being conducted by the authorities.
