The father of a deputy jailor who was shot dead in Meerut, has blamed two colleagues for the murder.
Narendra Dwivedi, deputy jailor of the Meerut district jail, was shot near a shopping mall on Tuesday evening by two miscreants.
Dwivedi’s father Gaya Ram has told the police that he suspects two other deputy jailors, Avinash Chauhan and RK Singh for his son’s murder. Both are now in police custody for questioning.
According to Gaya Ram, his son was worried for his safety ever since the two asked him to incite violence among the prisoners.“He was a tough officer, who was killed for opposing corruption,” he said.
He has also named Yadvendra Shukla, a jail superintendent, as a suspect. The top brass of the police and administrative service of the district paid respects to Dwivedi.
