Love for Kannada should be shown in everyday activities, opined scholar Hiremagalur Kannan.
Speaking at the Kannada Rajyotsava function held under the aegis of Maruti Nagar Forum and Women’s Forum, he said parents have the onus of inculcating love towards Kannada in their children. Children must be taught about Karnataka culture, history, and the achievements of people in developing the language. Moreover, they must be taught to write and speak the language without any mistakes.
There is a need to create awareness about Kannada language and literature among teachers during the B.Ed and D.Ed courses, he stated. He called on elders to create awareness about the state’s culture and language among young generation as they are following pub culture. Speaking on the occasion S S Sreenivas, Assistant Chief Manager of Canara Bank, Bangalore branch said everyone should cultivate love for Kannada. S T D Nagaraj, Satyanarayana, Savitri Shivashankar were present on the occasion.
