Insults to Nation & Flag Unforgivable
Tiruchi, Dec 9.
Prime Minister Nehru today declared that Dravida Kazhagam leaders were welcome to “pack up” and “go from India to anywhere they want” if they did not like “our Flag or our Constitution.”
Speaking with emotion, the Prime Minister added: “No man has a place in India who insults the flag and the Constitution. It is not a question of politics or caste of the Madras State alone.”
State Schemes For 3rd Year Of Plan
Bangalore, Dec 9.
The State Government had drawn up various developmental schemes estimated to cost Rs 35 crores for the year 1958-59, third year of the Second Five-Year Plan.
The Finance Minister Mr T Mariappa said he expected financial assistance from the Central Government to the extent of about Rs 22 crores.

DIG Plays Major Role In Selection

New Delhi, Dec 9.
A policeman has had a large role to play in the selection of Congress(I) candidates for the election to the Karnataka Assembly due on January 5. He is Mr D R Kartikeyan, DIG (Intelligence) who had accompanied Chief Minister Gundu Rao to New Delhi to assist in the selection of candidates as sources put it.
Mr Kartikeyan used to be present in the meetings they had with Chief Minister to represent their cases.
