Former Lokayukta N Venkatachala on Sunday came down heavily on the former JD(S)-BJP coalition government, headed by H D Kumaraswamy, by alleging that the State has earned the reputation of “number one corrupt state” in the country during this period.
Speaking at the “Human Right Day” celebrations organised by Nidumamidi Mutt and Manava Dharma Peeta in Bangalore, Justice Venkatachala also accused that the Government led by Mr Kumaraswamy has done grave injustice to the State.
Corruption in all levels had grown in the State during these 21 months and it was evident from the statements of the leaders of the parties, BJP and JD(S), who have been accusing each other for being corrupt, Justice Venkatachala claimed.
He also said that the corruption of Janata Parivar has for the first time become public during the JD(S)-BJP coalition.
He further alleged that all those who served as ministers in the JD(S)-BJP government would be in jail if the decisions taken by them while in the government were made public under the Right to Information Act, sources said.
