In what is being termed an ‘act of vengeance’ to Jadeja Ravi’s murder a few days ago in Mandya, three men tried to kill liquor dealer Nagendra here on Sunday. He is said to have financed the attack and murder of Ravi.
Nagendra was attacked with hatchets when he came out of Ramakrishna Vidyashala. He had been there to meet his son along with his wife Vidya. His son Vishrut is an eighth standard student at the Vidyashala.

The attackers came in a silver-coloured car, bearing registration number KA 09 - 9888. 

As Nagendra came out, assailants chased and attacked him. They hit him on the head and fled the scene.
A shocked Vidya fell unconscious. Nagendra’s condition is said to be serious. A complaint has been lodged at VV Puram police station.
