The faculty of arts of St Aloysius College in Mangalore is organising a South Zone Inter-collegiate cultural fest, Art Beat 2007 on December 13 and 14.
Speaking at a press meet here on Monday, Dean of Faculty of Arts Prof Ligoury Mendonce said that Director of Sandesha Foundation of Culture and Education Fr Francis Lewis will inaugurate the fest at 10 am on December 13  while Principal Fr Swebert D’Silva will preside.
The theme for the fest this year is ‘Mudra, the language of expression’. There are about 15 competitions, all given Sanskrit names. They include Viveka (mock court), Samiksha (tabloid making), Pradnaya (therapy presentation), Advika (Mr and Ms Personality), Acira (Essay writing), Tvesha (quiz), Rashnaa (cooking without fire), Edhimaya (mock press), Tarana (lyrical duel), Kavini (poetry writing), Vinutha (contemporary dance) and Sanchaya (history article). The valedictory of the fest will be held at 4 pm on December 14.
Convenor Denis Fernandes and Student co-ordinators Dhiraj Serueira and Madhuri were present.
