The two alleged Al Badr terrorists Fahad alias Mohammed Koya and Ali Hussain, who were in judicial custody at Central prison in Mysore were, on Sunday, transferred to the Central prison, Parapanna Agrahara, Bangalore, based on the Sessions Court order.
Fahad and Ali had gone on a hunger strike demanding that they be transferred from Mysore prison to Central prison in Bangalore because they reportedly “liked the Iskcon food served in the prison in Bangalore.”
The two were arrested late last year in Mysore and had been in judicial custody since then. According to sources, Fahad and Ali had earlier demanded that they be given access to a telephone so that they can get in touch with their people in Pakistan. “Access to telephone is a privilege and not a right, of a prisoner.
Moreover our prisons do not have an STD or ISD connection. Giving terrorists access to phone is a security risk.
Fahad and Ali then went on a hunger strike for two-and-a-half days in Mysore prison and said they would end it only when they are transferred to Bangalore,” said the source.
Their application was allowed by the Sessions Court on Saturday and they were shifted the next day.
