The Congress on Tuesday submitted what it called a “detailed” reply to the Election Commission notice on Sonia Gandhi’s “merchant of death” comment during her election campaign in Gujarat. However, the party refused to divulge the details.
AICC spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said the Congress would not share the details of the reply with the media but added that it had made it clear that there was no violation of the code of conduct by Ms Gandhi.
“We have filed an appropriate and detailed response. We are certainly not sharing it with the press.
All I can assure you is that detailed reasons have been given to demonstrate that there is absolutely no question of violation of the model code of conduct,” he said.
NO DECISION ON MODI
New Delhi, dhns: The Election Commission has not take any decision on Tuesday, on the response filed by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, replying to its notice on violation of the model code of conduct, during his campaign for the ongoing Assembly polls in the state.
