Bowring Hospital doctors and staff on Thursday staged a rally in front of the hospital seeking protection from ‘harassment’ by vested interests.
Patients had to wait for some time as the medical fraternity resumed duty only after submitting a memorandum to Governor Rameshwar Thakur.
Hospital Superintendent Rajiv Shetty said the agitation was in protest against BJP leaders for “threatening doctors”.
The doctors alleged they were enraged by the comments of BJP leaders who visited the hospital to enquire about the condition of injured in Nehrupuram building crash.
Around 400 employees, including junior and senior, para medical staff, lab technicians and others took part.
