Ex-servicemen rally to mark Vijay Diwas

‘Vijay Diwas’ which commemorates India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, will be celebrated in Mangalore on December 16. An ex-servicemen rally will be held at the Padua High School Ground in Mangalore from 8.30 am to 4 pm.
The rally is being organised by the Army and the Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement. a large number of ex-servicemen from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts are expected to attend the rally along with senior military and civilian dignitaries.
The rally will provide ex-servicemen a forum to convey their views and requirements to the district administration and army authorities. It will also provide information and advice on various rehabilitation and resettlement schemes and other facilities like the Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme. Ex-servicemen and dependents with pension related problems may come with the relevant documents.
A team of expert doctors will run a medical camp on the occasion. War widows are also expected to be honoured, informed a press release.
