Carnatic classical
Kartikotsava 2007, the seventh annual Carnatic classical music festival, will see Vid K Bhaskaran performing on flute, Vid S Seshagiri Rao on violin and Vid M T Rajakesari on mridanga at the Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira, 9th main road, BSK II stage from 5 pm to 7.45 on Dec 16. The theme will be based on songs on Sri Krishna. The sponsors are Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira and Sri Tirunarayana Trust.

Guitar concert

Kuchipudi recital
Sri Raja Rajeshwari Kala Niketan presents Kuchipudi ‘Rangapravesham’ by Hema Gautham on December 19 at Chowdiah Memorial Hall at 6 pm. Veena Murthy Vijay, director Raja Rajeshwari Kala Niketan will present Hema, her disciple.

Rangapravesham
The Bharathanatyam ‘rangapravesham’ of Devi C Aithal, a disciple of Guru Naatyavidushi Jayaa, will be held on December16 at 6 pm at ADA Rangamandira. Devi has been learning Bharathanatyam under her guru for 11 years.

Painting life
A painting exhibition of B D Jagadish, an endeavour to uncover dimensions of life, will be on at Oxford Book Store, Leela Palace from December 16 to December 23.

Water colours
An exhibition of water colour paintings by Sadhu Aliyur will be held at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath Art Gallery on Kumarakripa Road till Dec 16.

Wood as canvas
An exhibition of fascinating `Woodscapes’ by Mumbai-based artist Rajendra Chaudhari will be on till December 22 between 10.30 am and 7.30 pm at Kirtilals, 4 Neeladri Plaza, Rajaram Mohan Roy Road, Richmond Circle.
