In the backdrop of India emerging as a major sourcing hub for multinational companies, the silicon city will be the venue for the first two-day India Sourcing Summit 2008 from February 8.
The high-level conference on sourcing and supply management is being jointly organised by the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) and Germany-headquartered International Supply and Management Institute (SMI). With MNCs wanting to increase their exports from India, sourcing and supply management have evolved into a strategic discipline.
Global outsourcing
“MDs and CEOs not having sourcing and supply management on top of their agenda are risking their success- especially in India,” Constantin Blome, Co-ordinator India Sourcing Summit told reporters here on Friday. About 150-200 corporate leaders, CEOs and top senior management from India and abroad are expected to participate in the summit having the theme “India as emerging hub for global outsourcing.”
The topics include sourcing in Automotive/Pharma/Aerospace/Retail, What to source in India, what to source in China.
