Broadcast policy must for electronic media
DH News Service,Udupi
A separate broadcast policy for electronic media is a must to safeguard and ensure growth of Kannada language, said Dr T C Purnima.

“A separate broadcast policy for electronic media is a must to safeguard and ensure growth of Kannada language,” said Dr T C Purnima.
Presenting a paper on “Usage of Kannada in Media” at 74th All India Kannada Sahithya Sammelana at Udupi on Friday, Dr Purnima said that a separate policy is desirable to keep a vigil on the language used by the electronic media.
She said that as against the electronic media, print media has been responsible and sincere towards Kannada.
They have not resorted to altering the language even in the present scenario of fierce competition posed by the electronic media.
She said that newspapers may be fighting out each other in news coverage, priorities and price but all the newspapers have been using a uniform style of language as against the electronic media, which have been meddling with the language to attract more and more viewers in wake of liberalisations.
