For some star talk
B V Prathyusha

It was amidst loud Christmas carols, hundreds of children and basically a Christmas party that Priyanka Chopra decided to interact with the media. Perhaps interact is the wrong word as the distance that she wanted to maintain with the media makes it a little difficult to call it an interaction. Standing a good ten feet away, it was one of the strangest celeb-media meetings. However, Priyanka had no qualms in interacting with children from an NGO Asha Deep, for whom the party had been organised. Some excerpts from the meeting:

Southern experience...
I started working when I was very young. And I started my career in a Tamil film called Tamizhan and personally I think I was quite bad in the film. I was just 18 and Vijay was this big star.

But I must say that he was extremely humble, courteous and very patient with fans. He was great to work with and I would love to work in a regional film again if I got the opportunity.

Dream role...
Well, I haven’t done my dream role yet. I still have a long way to go in the industry and one thing I would be interested in is a period film.

A role that you wished you had done...
When I was growing up, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ) was this teenage fantasy for me. You know how people have soul food? DDLJ was like that for me- if i felt upset I would watch DDLJ and feel better! I love the film and so one character I would love to play is ‘Simran’.

Gadget freak...
Yes, I am a complete gadget freak. I have so many gizmos that I love. I bought the Macbook Pro when it came out and I was very excited about it. I like the phone I am using now which allows me to toggle between two sim cards simultaneously.

Passionate singer
I wish I could dedicate more time for it because I really love singing. I think we are closest to God when we are singing from the heart.

Action hero image...
I try to do something different in every movie.

I did the girl-next-door and I was the bad girl in Aitraaz and with Don I got the action heroine image. I guess the image will be strengthened because of my contract with Virgin comics, who will bring out a comic book character based on me. That project is very exciting as well and in fact, its scary how much the comic book character looks like me!

I have a film called Drona coming up in which you will see me in a full-fledged action role.

That special someone...
My love life is not very exciting right now. When I find someone I’m sure I’ll be very vocal about it.
And what do you want for Christmas this year

A car! I’ve been trying to get my parents to get me a new car; they didn’t get me one on my birthday so maybe I’ll get it for Christmas!
