DD programme for Xmas
Doordarshan Kendra, Bangalore is organising a special programme entitled, “Krista Namana” in collaboration with NBCLC and Good Shepherd Society on connection with Christmas on Decemebr 16 at Good Shepherd Auditorium from 5.30 pm to 8 pm. This will be telecast live on Karnataka regional service (DD-1) and “Chandana”, showcasing the message of Jesus Christ in different cultural formats.

During the cultural programme, artistes and students from NBCLC, Baldwin Girls’ High School, Nrityavani, St Philomena’s Nursing College, Sacred Heart School, Jyoti Seva - School for Visually Impaired, Mount Carmel College, Ebenezer International School, National Centre and Jyoti Nivas College will be presenting dance ballets, songs and other cultural items. St Patrick’s Church and Chiguru will be presenting the choir.

Film workshop
FilmCamp TV is an organisation that focuses on teaching , producing and screening new Indian cinema. As part of the teaching initiative, FilmCamp TV is conducting one-day workshops called ‘1:1 Filmmaking workshop.” At these workshops, complete novices organised in groups, make one-minute films.

Participants collaboratively write a script, storyboard it, shoot it (using cameras provided) and edit their films (using Mac computers provided).
The workshop is entirely hands-on for participants overseen by instructors at every stage of production. All films are completed in one day. Completed films are screened on www.filmcamp.tv website and also at offline screenings.

The workshop is intended as media empowerment for the common man. With the advent of digital filmmaking, the associated tools have become more easily accessible. FilmCamp.TV aims to use these tools to demystify the filmmaking process and make it available to the common man FilmCamp TV has successfully conducted four such workshops in Bangalore and Chennai.

FilmCamp TV is organising two such events in Bangalore - a screening of films and a workshop. The screening will be on December 15 from 5.30 pm to 10.30 pm and workshop on December 16 from 8.30 am to 7.30 pm. For details visit www.filmcamp.tv or call 9243422797.

Lifestyle fair
The Hindu Metro Plus Lifestyle Show 2007 is on at RBANMS Grounds till December 17. Considered South India’s largest consumer fair, the event that offers a variety of products to consumers, witnesses 50,000 visitors per year per city. The five-day show in the City will bring together big brands that will present a range of lifestyle products. Apart from Bangalore, the show will be held in nine cities that include Chennai, Madurai, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vizag, Coimbatore and Kochi.

About 240 stalls, spread over 48,000 sq ft of air conditioned space will have on sale products ranging from consumer electronics, automobiles and accessories, furniture and furnishing, kitchen accessories, home appliances, bathroom fittings, art and handicrafts, beauty and healthcare products, home interiors and jewellery among others.

The show will also see international presence with a Thai corner bringing to India quintessential Thai jewellery, textiles and handicrafts. Representatives from Pakistan will showcase decorative pieces in onyx along with a range of fabrics.
