Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Friday directed his Advisor P P Prabhu to examine the reasons which prompted the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) to hike the price of milk and some milk products.
Replying to queries from reporters in Bangalore on Friday, Mr Rameshwar Thakur said he had not been consulted by KMF on the price hike.
“Mr Prabhu will hold discussions with officials to enquire into the reasons behind the hike.
He will examine the issue in detail and take an appropriate decision,” he said.
To another query, Advisor to the Governor P K H Tharakan said the details had been sought on the alleged suicide by a farmer from Nanjangud following alleged harassment by the recovery squad of ICICI Bank.
“Action will taken as per law,” the Governor said.
