Lakshmi discharged
Two year-old Lakshmi Tatma who underwent a marathon 27 hour surgery last month to separate her parasitic twin, was on Saturday discharged from the Sparsh Hotel. She was operated upon by a team of 30 surgeons on November six and seven.

The Internet search powerhouse is inviting chosen people to test a free service dubbed "knol," to indicate a unit of knowledge, says vice president of engineering Udi Manber.
DCE comes up with a car that runs completely on solar energy
Head of the project Ankur Sharma claimed that the car is India's first solar car and runs completely on solar energy. He said that the basic motivation for the project comes from the depleting conventional energy resources.
Sharma said the car uses 672 Watts solar panel specially manufactured for the car by CEL and the driving DC motor uses the battery bank of 48 V , 84 AH which will be charged by the solar panels continuously during the test run...

Kumble makes it to top 5

Ganguly, who was placed 39th just one year ago, hit two centuries, including a double ton, and one fifty in his aggregate of 534 runs from the three Tests (average 89). Kumble took 18 wickets in the three Tests, including 5-60 in Bangalore, and moved up two places and is back into top five in LG ICC Rankings for Test bowlers.
CAPTAINSPEAK: Skipper Anil Kumble believes India has the firepower to beat Australia in their own den. "We have the potential to beat Australia because we have the batting line-up to put the runs on the board," Kumble said and added: "once we have the runs on the board, I believe we have the ability to get 20 wickets."

India will open their campaign with a three-day fixture against Victoria at the Junction Oval ground in Melbourne from December 20 to 22.

Dec 26-30: 1st Test, Melbourne Cricket Ground; Jan 2-6: 2nd Test, Sydney Cricket Ground; Jan 16-20: 3rd Test, WACA Ground, Perth; Jan 24-28: 4th Test, Adelaide Oval
Lawson's performance unsatisfactory: PCB
"The team was short on mental toughness and professionalism and the responsibility for this lies with the coach. I am not satisfied with Lawson's performance. When he returns from his Christmas holidays we will talk to him," PCB Chairman Nasim Ashraf said. He found very few positives from the recent tour and said the team's performance lacked spine and the focus of the players was not completely on cricket.
