Jayasuriya for Warwickshire
Warwickshire have signed Sri Lankan veteran Sanath Jayasuriya to play in next year’s Twenty20 Cup.
“Jayasuriya has now decided to play in the English county after announcing his retirement from Test cricket”, a Sri Lankan channel reported on Saturday.
The 38-year-old retired from Test cricket earlier this month but will continue to play ODI and Twenty20 games for Sri Lanka.

Hodge to miss tie against India
Brad Hodge will not take field against India during the opening match of their tour game which will see the visitors square-off against Victoria from December 20, reports UNI from Sydney.
The middle-order batsman, who has an impressive Test average of 58.42, suffered an inflamed disc in his back while he was warming up before Australia’s Twenty20 clash against New Zealand in Perth.
‘’It has settled down a little bit, but I have been told not to risk it. It’s still a bit tender and I am restricted in movement,’’ Hodge was quoted as saying by the Herald Sun.

Sanja sets world record
Croatia’s Sanja Jovanovic won gold in the women’s 50M backstroke in a world record 26.50 seconds, shaving 0.31 seconds off the previous best, at the European short-course championship on Saturday, reports Reuters from Hungary.
The German women's 4x50M medley team also set a world record, the sixth of the championships, clocking one minute 46.67 seconds. In the women’s 400M freestyle, Olympic champion France’s Laure Manaudou scored an easy victory while local favourite Laszlo Cseh seized gold in the men’s 200M butterfly.
