The Special Court at Parappana Agrahara dealing with fake stamp paper cases has convicted four persons including stamp paper scam kingpin Kareem Lala Telgi in a 1999 case lodged with R T Nagar police, Bangalore.
C G Hungund, Special Judge for Fake Stamp Paper Cases, pronounced the judgment on Saturday convicting Telgi, Wazir Ahmed Saliq of Tumkur, Badruddin Jamadar and P G Pradeep Kumar. Telgi, Saliq and Jamadar were sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for five years and fine of Rs 4.5 lakh with a default clause of additional one year imprisonment.
Pradeep Kumar was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for one year and fine of Rs 50,000. However, three other accused in the case, Anees Khan, Irfan Ahmed and Samiulla Sharif were acquitted.
