Miscreants waylaid a car owner on  Seshadri Road and robbed him of  Rs 40,000 cash, two gold chain and other valuables on Friday night.
Sunil Kumar told police that a gang led by George Varghese threatened him at knife point and made away with the cash and the articles. In another incident, a gang waylaid Rajajinagar residents near Andrew's Road in Shantinagar and robbed them of of Rs 70,000 cash, two gold chain and mobile phone.
Succumbs to burns
A woman succumbed to burns at Victoria hospital on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Dhulan.
According to the police, she suffered 65 per cent burns when her saree accidentally caught fire when she was cooking. She was rushed to the hospital.
Inspector suspended
The police inspector of Commercial Street police station B S Mohan Kumar, who was facing the charges of selling off two-wheelers, seized under various cases, has been suspended.
There were allegation that two wheelers worth Rs 1 lakh were sold.
