Former India skipper Nari Contractor, whose Test career was cut short after he suffered a near-fatal skull injury when leading the country in the West Indies in 1962, was bestowed with the Cricket Board’s prestigious CK Nayudu award for Lifetime Achievement here on Sunday.
Also felicitated on the occasion were three current day greats: star batsmen Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid and newly-appointed Test captain and leg-spinner Anil Kumble for their performances.

Meanwhile, the print media photographers boycotted the award‘s function complaining of their ill-treatment by the organisers.
The photographers, who were standing near the stage, were pushed away and no arrangements were made for them to click the members and cricketers there.
