I M G Khan, Secretary, Union Department of Posts, who announced this on Sunday, also added that the MTC will offer post graduate and other professional courses related to postal services. He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Technology Development Centre at the Postal Training Centre premises.
Noting that the TDC has been proposed at a cost of Rs 63 lakh, he said that it will be constructed on the lines of a heritage structure, Khan said.
He has also spoken to the Director General of the Universal Postal Union, so as to facilitate the proposed TDC to share various services like the International Mail Service and International Financial Service, among others being offered by the Postal Centre in Switzerland. Meanwhile, the curtains came down on the 22nd All India Postal Cultural Meet on Sunday. Karnataka bagged the Best Zone Award for the fourth time in a row. Andhra Pradesh won the team championship.
