Bangalore City now has one more trust aimed at preserving and popularising Hindustani classical music - the Swarna Aradhana Seva Trust, set up by Jayateerth Mevundi, a well-known Hindustani singer.
The trust, which is Mevundi’s brainchild, aims at providing a platform for budding musicians to showcase their talent. The trust also plans to felicitate lesser-known senior performers, conduct music concerts once in three months, award scholarships to eligible students of music and also to host a music concert exclusively for young musicians.
Well-known writer Bannanje Govindacharya and cine star Vishnuvardhan, who were the chief guests, called upon citizens to preserve classical music. Noted classical singers Vidhushi Shyamala G Bhave and Pandit Vinayak Toravi were felicitated on the occasion. Contact: 9343512017/9241209408.
