'Janaspandana' relaunched
DH News Service, Mangalore:

First edition of ‘Janaspandana’, a Kannada weekly tabloid was released by Federation of University College Teachers’ Association of Karnataka (FUCTAK) President Prof A M Narahari on Monday at Press Club in Mangalore.

Launching the tabloid, Prof Narahari lauded the courage of Sadanand S, the editor of the tabloid who went ahead to pursue his dream of breathing life into and re-publishing ‘Janaspandana’ inspite of the discouraging suggestions given by his friends and colleagues.

However, Prof Narahari said in wake of present prevailing fierce competition many and most news papers have chosen the path of commercialisation and hence he said that the tabloid must stand by its name and imbibe positive changes required, make itself identified through its distinct style and language and thus carve a niche for itself.

Sadanand S said that as the name of the newspaper itself says ‘Janaspandana’, the newspaper aims at interacting with the people, reflecting their problems, their contempt against the system and expectations.
Journalist Wilfred was present on the occasion.
