Regular check-ups will help to maintain health, said Taluk Panchayat President H B Gowramma.
She was speaking after presiding over the Suvarna Arogya Chaitanya programme, which was jointly organised by the Public Instructions department and the district health department.
Gowramma appreciated the government’s step to organise health check-up camps, which many of the families have been neglecting today. Detection of the disease at the earlier stage will help to cure the disease, she added.
Taluk Panchayat Executive Engineer B G Raveendra inaugurated the function.
He said that the government has been giving preference towards developmental works.
The government has been providing mid-day meals, uniforms, text books, providing bicycles and other facilities.
Organising regular health check-up camps is the new scheme of the government and asked the parents to benefit from such health camps.
Taluk heath officer Suresh, BEO C Rangadhamaiah, Tahsildar M Ningaiah and others were present.
A doctors’ team in 15 vehicles will visit all the government hospitals and will hold check-ups for students till December 22, and requested the parents to send their children without fail.
