Rider killed in accident
Kunigal, dhns: A person died when a tractor collided with a two-wheeler under the limits of Amruthuru Police station.
The deceased is K M Venkataramaiah (45), Chief of Udbhava Education Institution in Pattegarpalya of Bangalore, a native of Kiramgur of Amruthur hobli of the taluk.
Mr Venkataramaiah was on his way to meet his mother who was sick along with his sister Gangamma in Kirumgur. Gangamma is severely injured in the incident. The incident happened around 8 pm and the driver of the tractor absconded along with his vehicle.
The villagers who insisted to arrest the tractor driver protested, when PSI Radhakrishna arrive to the spot.
However, CPI Balarame Gowda, was successful in convincing the public.
The police have registered a case and further investigation regarding the case is on.
Four persons imprisoned
Kunigal, dhns: The court has fined Rs 1,000 and four months imprisonment to four persons Siddaiah, Ramanna, Hanumakka, Bhagyamma who had attacked Guruvaiah and a police staff on November 21, 2005 . The four had illegally entered the field of Guruvaiah and were harvesting the crops without the permission of owner Guruvaiah.
When Guruvaiah, along with a police staff tried to stop them, the four attacked them. Amruthuru PSI Narasimhaiah had registered a case against them. CPI Balarame Gowda had submitted a charge sheet. Public prosecutor Venkatesh argued in the case.
