The Congress party took out a protest rally in Bangalore on Monday to protest the JD(S)-BJP coalition for introducing Sakrama 2007, regularisation of unauthorised developments and constructions.
Former MLA Dinesh Gundurao addressing the protesters demanded that former BJP ministers R Ashok and Katta Subramanya Naidu should seek an apology for blaming the Congress party for the regularisation scheme.
“It is the brainchild of the JD(S)-BJP coalition. The law to introduce the scheme was tabled in the special session held at Belgaum. It was passed without holding debate”, he alleged. Former mayor P R Ramesh said the Congress government in 2005 framed rules for Sakrama.
Narrow escape
Two persons riding on a two-wheeler had a narrow escape when a huge hoarding, wishing former minister H D Revanna on his 50th birthday, fell at Basaveshwara Circle on Monday. They escaped as they applied a sudden brake. The hoarding measuring 25x10 ft was displayed to wish Revanna on his birthday. The sudden fall of the hoarding due to wind, attracted the attention of the Congress party workers.
