Chitrasanthe on December 30
Art collectors and connoisseurs will once again get a chance to see and buy exotic art works at the fifth edition of ‘Chitrasanthe’ on December 30.
Organised by Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Chitrasanthe-2007 will provide rural artists an opportunity to showcase their works.
“The Santhe aims to get all artists on a single platform to help showcase their skills and contribute towards art, especially visual art,” KCP President T Prabhakar told reporters here on Tuesday. The event is expected to draw over 1,000 artists and a lakh visitors.
Industrial units raided
BBMP sleuths, led by joint commissioner (Bommanahalli) Venkataramana N Nayak, on Tuesday, raided several industrial units on Anjanapura Main Road in Konanakunte sub division and sealed them.
The action was taken as owner of industrial units had not taken the Palike’s permission and were illegally carrying out activities. The raided industrial units include Garuda Autocrafts, Quality Stone Factory, Pavan Packaging, Vikas Detergents Private Limited and Trans Pack Factory.
Colleges reopen on Jan 16
Bangalore University (BU) has directed all its affiliated colleges to reopen only on January 16 for even II, IV and VI semesters. In a release, BU Registrar (Evaluation) has stated that it has come to the notice of the varsity that some colleges are planning to reopen earlier than scheduled date.
