Theft bid foiled
An attempt to loot a bank was foiled by the bank’s security guard at Kengeri on Monday. Police said, as many as six people were trying to break the lock of the Urban Co-operative Bank. Venkateshwar, security guard of the Bank, saw them and raised an alarm and the burglars fled.
Three killed
Three people were killed in separate accidents.
A KSRTC bus driver from Hassan was killed on the spot, when an vehicle crushed him to death near Majestic on Monday. Police said, H Raju (35) had driven a Hassan-to-Bangalore bus and had parked it at the Majestic.
Sometime later, people saw his body in a pool of blood. Upparpet traffic police are investigating. In the second incident, Sunitha (45), a resident of Peenya, died when a truck hit her two-wheeler in Peenya. The third incident was reported at Nelamangala where, Girish Babu (30), a resident of Nelamangala died, when a truck hit his scooter.
Youth ends life
Venkatesh (25) committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Uttarahalli, on Monday. Police said, the reason is yet to be ascertained.
Commit’s suicide
A woman committed suicide by hanging at her HAL residence on Monday. Police said Mamatha (28) was the wife of Shankar, a manager in a private firm.
Found dead
A senior citizen was found dead in a KSRTC bus from Jamkhandi to Bangalore on Tuesday. The driver and conductor were taken aback when they saw the old man refusing to budge from his seat, when the bus arrived in Bangalore. Police said, the deceased Jurm D Almeda (68), was a supervisor of Ramkumar Industries in Peenya.
He hails from Mangalore and travels regularly to North Karnataka for business purpose. Jurm had boarded the bus at Jamkhandi on Monday night. The doctors said that he might have died due to a massive heart attack.
