Bopana just did not allow Saleem to settle down into his usual rhythm, winning 60-16, 61-41, 56-27.

Divya Sharma of Haryana downed fancied Saurav Kothari of PSPB 16-57, 46-83, 58-52, 60-25, 49-42 in another upset.

Saurav did have a chance on the black ball of the decider but could not grab the opportunity. Divya capitalised on the offering to pocket the black and win the contest.

Nadeem Ahmed of Karnataka was in good touch as he drubbed Maharashtra’s Amit Saboo. Before Saboo settled down, Nadeem had pocketed the first two frames.

In the third, with Saboo making mistakes, Nadeem completed the formalities, with the scores reading 51-35, 59-41, 58-52.
