The preliminary works to make way for the construction of proposed Suvarna Soudha in Belgaum have gathered pace. If sources are to be believed, the works on the mega structure, which had become a bone of contention for political parties in the state, may take off even before the popular government takes shape in Karnataka.
Already, two architects have been finalised by PWD to draw up the design of main Suvarna Soudha building and the work is likely to take off sometime in the first quarter next year, well ahead of the assembly polls in the state.
Highly placed sources in PWD said, “The development works will not stop. The process of calling tenders and other necessary works with regard to the construction of Suvarna Soudha will continue and as soon as it is over, the construction of Suvarna Soudha will begin.”
