Even as the police are striving hard to trace the gang, another man fell “prey” on Tuesday night. Police said Vinayak (24), an employee of a private firm, was returning home when four youths on two motorbikes robbed him of Rs 1,000, a gold chain and two cellphones.
“There has been no breakthrough, but investigations are on,” said a police officer at HBR Layout police station.
Before Vinayak, four others had been robbed. One of them was lucky as he managed to his money back.
DCP (Crime) D Ravikanthe Gowda suspects the involvement of more than two to three gangs.
Ganja seized
A man was arrested and ganja worth Rs 2 lakh recovered from him on Tuesday. Multan Rajbhasmia, (42) a native of UP, was found selling the drug at Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
Fake taxman held
An impostor who tried to make a fast buck by posing as a tax officer, landed in police net on Tuesday. Police said Anand Christraj tried to extort money from shopkeepers at Koramangala saying he was an officer from Commercial Tax Department.
Woman run over
A woman was fatally knocked down by a truck on Tumkur Road near Peenya on Tuesday. The mishap occurred when Bhimaji (30), a resident of Chikkanayakanapallya, was proceeding to the school to bring back her daughter.
The driver fled the spot.
