Painting competition

As many as 150 children participated in a painting competition organised by the Forum. An unique feature of the competition was that the winning painting would be printed as a greeting card and sold to companies. The proceeds will go towards Parents Association of Persons with Cerebral Palsy and Associated Disorders.  Sahaja, Aditya, Noor Singh bagged the prizes.

Advocates felicitated

Senior advocates K Subba Rao and M C Narasimhan were felicitated by their  colleagues, in the City on Wednesday, to mark their law practice of five decades.

‘78% pregnancies in India unintended’

Seventy eight per cent of pregnancies in India are unintended and 25 per cent unwanted. According to the Federation of Obstetrics & Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), the primary reason for unsafe abortions in India is unplanned pregnancy. Addressing reporters here on Wednesday, Dr Hema Divakar, Chairperson, FOGSI Perinatology Committee, and Dr Rekha Gogi, Medical Officer, FPAI, Bangalore, said there is a need to create awareness on reducing number of unintended pregnancies in India.
