Dear Sir,
I am a student of second PU (Arts). I want to know what Corporate Training is. Is there a specific course after PU to become a Corporate Trainer? How many years does it take and what would be the job opportunities and options regarding this field? Does this involve doing night shifts ?
A Reader, Bangalore
Dear Reader,
Corporate Training covers a wide range of imparting knowledge and skills to employees in technical, managerial or soft skills. To make employees more productive and knowledgeable in practical areas, companies either employ corporate trainers or outsource the training work to consultancies. Since you have taken up Arts, you can eventually qualify in any field like Human Resources Management (HRM), Marketing, Communication, Languages, Customer Support. Most of the courses in these areas are at the post-graduate level. You may complete your BA or BBM and then go into specialisation.
Dear Sir,
My daughter is writing her SSLC exam this year. Please let me know which are the best PUC colleges in Bangalore, how they choose students, when the admission process begins, whether we will have to pay donations, and the fee structure for PUC courses.
Anonymous
Dear Anonymous,
PUC admissions begin immediately after the announcement of SSLC results. It is better to take application forms from at least two or three colleges immediately after the results. You can use the previous year's cut-off percentage as an indicator of the possibility of your daughter getting admission in any particular college. Admission is based entirely on SSLC marks, and the cut-off varies for Science, Commerce and Arts streams.
Ensure that your daughter chooses her line of study much in advance so that there is no last minute confusion. Last dates for submission vary from college to college, and so do the fees. Government colleges have the lowest fee (starting from below Rs.600 per year, going up to tens of thousands), and it is higher for Science than for Arts. Some private colleges do take donation off the record. Most colleges put up second and third lists of admission since not all students whose name comes in the first list actually join that college.
Dear Sir,
My daughter studying in II BA, (PYES) who is good in academics wishes to take up Law after her degree. I am not sure if I will be able to afford the fees of this course. I prefer to send her for an MA and after that for her to appear for the KAS/IAS examinations. What should I do?
V Mohan, Bangalore
Dear Mohan,
National Law School of India University (NLSIU) offers a five year B.A.,Ll.B. to candidates who have completed 10+2 with any optional subjects. Admission is through a highly competitive entrance exam for a limited number of seats. Your daughter will be wasting three years of education if she goes in for that course. However, other colleges affiliated to Bangalore and other Universities offer a three year Ll.B. to graduates from any stream, and these courses are generally not very expensive. Check your daughter's aptitude and then let her choose what she would like to do after graduation. She can appear for KAS/IAS exam immediately after her graduation, but she must start preparing right now because these again are highly competitive exams.
Dear Sir,
Please help me get the address of IGNOU so that I can do a BA/BCom/BCA and also a certificate course for primary teachers job.
Zakiya Taranum Naaz, Bijapur
Dear Zakiya,
Indira Gandhi National Open University (www.ignou.ac.in) offers a wide variety of degree, diploma and certificate courses in a very wide range of subjects, including Diploma in Primary Education. You can check the details of the various courses on their website. They do have a study centre in Bangalore (Jayanagar) and other State capitals, but it is not necessary for you to visit there unless you require some coaching. All other interaction is done by correspondence, and only for the exam you will have to go to the nearest centre of your choice.
Dear Sir,
I am studying in II PUC with Commerce as my combination. I am planning to do BBM/BCom alongside company secretaryship. I request you to give the highlights of company secretaryship and where this course is offered in Bangalore and also which is more preferable BCom or BBM for this course?
Amogh Nanjappa,
Gonikoppal
Dear Amogh,
BCom gives you a stronger foundation in accounts and commerce related subjects, while BBM or BBA is a wider course also covering areas like marketing, human resources etc. If you are keen on becoming a Company Secretary, a B.Com may be more beneficial to you. The Associate Company Secretary (ACA) qualification is awarded by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, whose Bangalore office is located at 3rd floor, Sheriff Chambers, Cunningham Road, B-560052 (Ph: 22261861). You are eligible to sit for the Foundation exam, after which you will be required to pass the Intermediate and Final exams, and complete an internship with a qualified Company Secretary. Details can be had on their website www.icsiindia.com
Dear Sir,
I completed my BSc (PCM) and also the Hardware/Networking course. Now I want to do my PG. I am confused which course to join (MBA/MCA/MSc).
Vijaya Bhaskar, Raichur
Dear Vijaya Bhaskar,
The course you select should depend on the field you would like to work in. If you feel, after doing the hardware course, that you would like to make a future in IT, then you may take up a three year MCA if you are willing to work hard, or a two year M.Sc(IT) which is comparatively easier, but may not get you the same job openings as an MCA. MBA is good if you are more business oriented and would like to move into marketing, HR, Finance or Systems Management. If you cannot decide what would be good for you, you may take up a job on the basis of your degree and hardware qualifications, and get a feel of the field.
Dear Sir,
Greetings
I have read todays Deccan Herald Education paper in that i saw the question and answer column. The way of guidance to students who asks the questions in that attracted me. So, immediately i thought to send mail to you with expecting a good answer.
I Ravikumar V Jayavarapu, 31year old who interested in studies. Due to some things i cant study more than 10+2. From past 2 to 3 years i am searching news papers and websites to do MBA program in distance mode. Finally i came to know that IIPM is offering 18month MBA program in regular mode that to they are charging very high that is six lakh for the entire course. I cant afford that much of amount and that is too high for my financial things.
I knew that eight years back Annamalai University is offering distance mode 2years MBA who completed the age 25years but know they closed that policy.
Is any where in India offering MBA program with 10+2 qualification in distance mode, if it is please send me the particulars as early as possible.
Please show me the route to do MBA program.
Thankyou
Ravikumar V Jayavarapu
