Fortunate 40 from FIITJEE
FIITJEE, the nation's premier institute for IIT-JEE training declares one of their social initiatives Fortunate 40, a programme especially designed with an objective to help the deserving children from the economically weaker sections of the society get admission to the IITs, whose parental income is below Rs.10,000 per month.
This programme is only for those students who are currently in class VIII (going to class IX) and class X (going to class XI) i.e the aspirants for IIT-JEE, 2012 and IIT-JEE, 2010 respectively. To apply for the scholarships, the students will have to qualify in the selection test to be conducted on February 10, 2008 across 31 test centres in India .

Techfest 2008
Come January 2008, and IIT Bombay shall be a hub for all the aspiring technocrats of the nation. The eleventh edition of Techfest which is the Annual International Science and Technology Festival of IIT Bombay promises to be bigger and better than ever. Having established itself as the largest science and technology festival in Asia, last year Techfest saw a footfall of nearly 30,000 students from all over the country.
Competitions at Techfest 2008 have been divided into four broad groups namely: Analogic, Xtreme Machines, Life 2.0 and Innovision. Competitions in Analogic cater to the Computer Science and Electronics departments whereas popular robotics comes under Xtreme Machines. Life 2.0 is a unique category of competitions introduced this year, which focuses at delivering a “better life” for the generations to come and living in harmony with the environment by using our knowledge of science.

BU affiliation
The Bangalore University has invited applications for affiliation to M.Ed course for the year 2008-09, from the affiliated B.Ed colleges having not less than 5 years of continuous affiliation. Norms and standards prescribed by the Bangalore University and NCTE shall be fulfiled by the Colleges strictly, which shall be the criteria for granting of affiliation by the University.
Eligible B.Ed colleges should file application for affiliation to M.Ed, coarse in the Additional Course affiliation application forms available at 'Office of the Co-ordinator, Prasaranga Sales Unit, Palace Road, Bangalore-560001’ — on payment of Rs. 200 by submitting a DD drawn in favour of the 'Registrar, Bangalore University, Bangalore-560056 .
Duly filled-in application forms in 8 sets (with Preliminary Project Report) with prescribed affiliation fee of Rs. 50,000 (for Colleges run by SC/ST Management affiliation fee is Rs. 25,000 by way of DD drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bangalore University, Bangalore 560056 (to be remitted by the college to the University funds on the day of submission at State Bank of Mysore, Nagarabhavi Branch), shall be submitted in the Office of the Registrar (Academic Section-III) Bangalore University, Jnanabharathi, Bangalore-560056, on or before 28 December 2007 in person. Beautician course
