'No candidates left in JD(S) party'
DH News Service, Kunigal:
H D Deve Gowda asking efficient police officers to resign from their post in order to contest from their party shows that there are no candidates left in JD(S), mocked D K Shiva Kumar. He was speaking at the inauguration function of the new Block. Congress office at Kunigal on Wednesday

The function also covered Membership registration campaign and Workers Conference.

Congress government under S M Krishna  gave efficient government which adopted pro-people polices and was popular with the people, opined Shiva Kumar who said that Krishna government distributed 12 lakh houses to the poor people. Shiva Kumar alleged that coalition government during its 20 months rule was involved in business and profit making as a result the state is lagging behind in the development.

Condemning the Gowda’s decision to field police officer he said the state of JD(S) party can be known from this.

He said that Congress will win the election and will give befitting answer to communal BJP.

Though Congress didn’t get a clear majority in th last election it was able to pool 35 per cent of the votes, where as communal BJP and JD(S) got 21 and 19 per cent respectively, said AICC member and former minister G Parameshwara. The unholy union of the BJP and JD(S) has ended in the debacle, he added.

JD(S) and BJP claim to have given pro-farmers budget but in actual Yeddyurappa had allocated only 17 per cent of the total expenditure for the irrigation where as during the Krishna’s regime it was 26 per cent, he added. BJP is leading the youths astray by alluring them with other things, opined former minister S P Muddahanume Gowda who said that during the rule of Krishna a lift irrigation was sanctioned for the Kunigal region at a cost of Rs 33 crores but was cancelled in the due course. He promised to take up the project if people gave him a chance.

Former minister H M Revanna opined that people have now evinced interest in Congress as they are
convinced of their  working style, thus leaders should work hard to retain this feeling.
