Madikeri, the Kashmir of South India, witnessed overcast sky, chilly wind and light drizzling from Tuesday, marking the beginning of winter.

People have started taking shelter under sweaters and heaters to protect themselves from the cold and to keep themselves warm. Kodagu district has witnessed rainfall till the end of October.

Meanwhile Dakshina Kannada district too remained cloudy throughout the day.
