In most of the government departments the employees have not been appointed according to the general population, said State Unit President of Government Employees’ Association L Byrappa.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the Samudhaya Bhavan of the Chikkaballapur District Government Employees’ Association. If the benefits of the various welfare schemes launched by the government needs to be availed by the public, then employees need to be appointed according to the population, he added.

Most of the State government employees have agrarian background and hence they should render honest services to the general public, observed Mr Byrappa. Due to the struggle of the employees association the 5th Pay Commission has been implemented, he added.
