Normal life has been thrown out of gear in Kolar Gold Fields for the last 48 hours because of a cold wave gripping this town.
Normally, the temperature drops considerably in this border town whenever it rains in Tamil Nadu. This time it has been raining incessantly, making things worse for the people.
People hardly came out of their houses and, schools and colleges have declared holiday. It has been virtually a curfew-like situation in the town with deserted roads. The roads, which were already in a bad shape have become worse with slush filling the potholes.
However, the rain has brought some relief to people who had to face drinking water problem throughout the year.
