Karnataka's M S Arun outclassed Anish Parikh of Jharkhand in straight frames to book his place in the round of 32 in the Senior National snooker championships here on Wednesday.
Arun, who finished second behind Bopanna in the State league in Bangalore, scored a crushing 78-36, 54-50, 51-18 victory, his second in as many matches in his group. In his final league tie, the 23-year-old Karnataka cueist takes on Brijesh Damani of West Bengal.
Elsewhere, promising Rishabh Pandya of Maharashtra outplayed former National champion Devendra Joshi 3-1 (1-57, 72-37, 6-67, 76-30). Geet Sethi, another former champion, too had a poor day in the office, crashing to a 1-3 loss to Tamil Nadu's Nadeem Ahmed.
