Addressing a media conference, Bangarappa said it was evident from the charges levelled by both BJP and JD(S) leaders against each other that large scale misuse of office as well as misappropriation of funds had taken place.
“The CBI inquiry should be ordered into the mining scandal, cycle purchase scandal, mining license scandal etc.
The truth will come out only if the inquiry is ordered,” he asserted.
Asserting that the Sakrama scheme is unscientific, Bangarappa demanded that the scheme be dropped.
The State Committee meeting of the SP will be held at Hubli on December 22. Besides deliberating on the strategy to be followed during the coming assembly election, the meeting would also discuss the candidates to be fielded. Besides the state office bearers, both district as well as taluk presidents of SP would attend the meeting. The party would have no truck with any party, and it would contest all 224 assembly seats in the state, he added.
Bangarappa said the party had decided to hold separate conventions of farmers and backward classes in February. While the farmers convention would be held in a North Karnataka district, the backward classes convention would be held in Chitradurga.
Replying to a query Bangarappa stated that the doors of the SP were open for former JD(S) leader M P Prakash and his associates to join the SP. Many women workers from Binnypet and Chickpet assembly constituencies joined SP.
