Disclosing this to mediapersons here on Wednesday former deputy chairman of the state legislative council and member of the dissolved assembly from Aland B R Patil said they have decided to meet Sonia Gandhi, who will announce their formal joining of the party. These eight MLAs include two from Gulbarga districts. Vaijanath Patil from Chincholi will also join Congress.
The other six former MLAs, who will be joining the party are: H C Mahadevappa, Venkatesh, Manchanalli Mahadeva, Somashekhar, H Y Meti and Krishnamurthy.
Another Siddaramaiah supporter Satish Jarkiholi, who is an MLC, will not be joining Congress officially for technical reasons, Patil added.
