For a change, pen was replaced by a ladle. Former Konkani Sahitya Academy President Fr Alexander F D’Souza turned a cook, may be for the first time in public. He baked out a snack to inaugurate the Christmas special Konkani Bazaar at Infant Jesus Shrine at Bikarnakatte on Thursday.
The place as it is had the smell of Christmas with the mouth-watering snacks arranged for sale at one end of the hall. Next to it was a collection of beautiful candles and decoration items. Another stall consisted of anything and everything you need to decorate your home on Christmas.
Starting from miniature X’mas trees to miniature models of Infant Jesus, his parents, the kings, angels, camels, lambs and what not to a plethora of colourful X’mas stars and other items to decorate the crib. There were many stalls for Konkani books, CDs and cassetes too, that attracted quite a good crowd.
Konkani Sahitya Academy President Eric Ozario and Fr Joe Tauro were present at the inaugural function.
The Bazaar will go on till December 24.
