Sitar recital
Hindustani Sangeeta Kalakara Mandali in association with Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs is organising Benne Narayana Rao Memorial Concert with a sitar recital by Sundarnath (disciple of late Ustad Balekhan) on December 22 at 6 pm at the Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs, near BMS Engineering college, Bull Temple road, N R Colony. He will be accompanied by Vighnesh Sharma on the tabla.

Tribute to music
Vijaya and Karthik School of Veena and Keyboard presents a tribute to Veena virtuoso Kalaimamani R K Suryanarayan at ADA Rangamandira, J C Road on December 25. The invocation will be by Hema Varshini N Y and Vaishnavi N Y. At 6 pm, there will an ensemble by Vijaya Lakshmi Govinda Rao and her disciples Seetha Lakshmi S, Veena Suresh, Kamini Chandar, Smitha N and Ramya B. At 7:15 pm there will be ‘One Man Show’, film songs with Master Karthik G Rao on the keyboard. Bharatanatyam
Ramya Sunad, a disciple of Vani Ganapathi, will have her recital on December 23 at 6 pm. Natuwaya will be by Guru Vani Ganapathy and Pulikeshi Kasturi. Vocals will be by Balasubramanya Sharma, flute by Jayarama and Mrudanga by Chandrashekar. This will be conducted by the BTM Cultural Academy on December 23 at 6 pm.

Kannada play
‘Bahumukhi’, a Kannada play by Vivek Shanbhag (playwright) and S Surendranath (director) organised by Ranga Shankara and Sanchaya will be held on December 22 and Dec 23 at 7.30 pm. This will also be staged at 3:30 pm on Sunday at the Ranga Shankara.

Pot Pourri
For a cause
Take 2, an amateur theatre group in Bangalore, is presenting ‘Maya’, the story of a girl in a contemporary urban setting filled with challenges, happiness, opportunities, emotions, and hope. The play, in support of The Eighteenth Horse Foundation, an NGO, is on December 21, 7:30 pm at Alliance Francaise de Bangalore. Tickets are available at the venue.
Children at Bal Bhavan
Three children will enthrall the audience with their performance called ‘Bala Vedike’ at Bal Bhavan on December 23 with music and dance.
Nine-year-old Raksha H and Ankitha S (9) will present light music while Swathi K (10) will present folk dance. The programme will be held between 2.30 pm and 5 pm.
