Conserve natural iron ore: Expert
DH News Service, Bangalore:

Dr G V Rao, Scientist, Institute of Minerals & Materials Technology, has said that beneficated iron fines (>64% Fe) after agglomeration are advised to be used by blending with high grade ores while making iron to conserve high grade natural iron ore resources.

Low grade iron ore fines and BHQ iron ore are prone to physical benefication which gives a production quality similar to the grade of iron ore used in blast furnances.

Dr Rao advised all the mine operators to preserve the low grade material / industry waste in an orderly manner instead of dumping every material with it, as there is a scope to recover value added minerals from such waste.
More details on the know-how may be had from Dr Rao - 09937519181 and IIMT, Bhubaneswar-75103, Orissa.
