Maharashtra will take on Punjab in the summit clash of the girls section in the 53rd National School Games basketball championship here on Friday.

In the semifinals,  Maharashtra scored a 42-17 win  over Chandigarh. For the winners, who led 27-10 at half-time, Sneha Rajaguru (10) and S Limaya (9) were the top scorers. Hosts Karnataka went down to Punjab 34-36 in the second semis.

Results  Semifinals: Boys: Haryana 50 (Hemanth 23, Deepak 9) bt Tamil Nadu 15. HT: 32-5.

Girls: Maharashtra 42 (Sneha Rajaguru 10, S Limaya 9) bt Chandigarh 17 (Neha 12, Sukhmani 5). HT: 27-10; Punjab 36 (Preeti Kaur 17, Geeta 10) bt Karnataka 34 (Soni 16, Shilpa 14). HT: 19-14. Quarterfinals: Karnataka: 31(Shruthi 12, Sumathi) bt MP: 23. HT: 18-9.
