The agitation against the education department’s decision to hold all the Common Entrance Test (CET) papers on a single day is once again gaining momentum.
This time, members of Student Federation of India (SFI) staged a dharna in front of the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) which is the nodal agency for conducting CET-2008.
The members felt that holding three papers on a single day was impractical and too much for the students.
They urged the government to spread the CET papers over two days as being done in the previous years. Their other demands include fixing the seat sharing ratio at 75:25 in private professional colleges (75 pc to be filled by government and 25 pc by private managements) and uniform fee structure in private colleges on par with that in government institutions.
