All the measures have been taken to start Quick Response Force with a view to strengthen State Home Guards, said Home Guards IGP and Additional Commissioner Kaleel Ul Rehman.
Addressing a press meet, he said the force will be helpful during the natural calamities. Youth between 18 and 22 will be included in the Force.
The youth will be trained in property and life protection during calamities. In the beginning it will be restricted to Bangalore city alone. The squad will come into force in January.
The squad will immediately respond if any DC or SP seeks help. For the last six months, Home Guards personnel are being trained, he added.
Mr Rehman said a seminar on terrorism will be held at Bangalore in February. To protect the life in Kodagu during flood, two boats will be given to the Home Guards.
For emergency service, Swaraj Mazda vehicle will also be provided. District Home Guards Commandant Major O S Chingappa was present.
