A resolution to this effect was passed at the elected representatives convention in Bangalore on Saturday. While the members to the various ULBs have been elected, the councils are not functioning as the reservation for the post of presidents and vice-presidents is yet to be notified.
Top BJP leaders will submit a memorandum to Governor Rameshwar Thakur in this regard soon.
Elections
Speaking on the occasion, former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa urged the party workers to gear-up for the assembly election, which he felt may be held as early as February next year. “Do not relax, prepare now, there are possibilities that the elections will be held in February and not in April-May as being talked about”, Mr Yeddyurappa said.
Alone for polls
He urged the party workers to ensure that the BJP gets a clear mandate. The party will go in alone for the polls and will contest in all the 224 constituencies, he said.
He expressed confidence that the people will wipe the JD(S) out of existence in the state.
Release
An audio cassette “Kaikota Kumar,” referring to the betrayal by former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy by withdrawing support to the BJP-led government was launched by state party president D V Sadananda Gowda.
Party candidates who had won the recently held ULB polls were felicitated on the occasion.
